Today, there is a multitude of ID Card solutions available on the market, so its easy to understand why you might find yourself uncertain about which software package is right for you.  But, it really is not as complicated as it may seem at first.  By answering a few questions, we can help you determine which software package best matches your functional and economic requirements.

Many organizations wish to (need to) limit the administration, printing, and management of their ID cards / badges to one location (individual, office, etc).  Examples of this class of software for single workstations are: Asure-ID Express and EPI-Suite Lite.  They offer user-friendly standalone software programs that includes all the powerful functions that small-to-medium sized organizations need to produce professional cards using their computer and an ID card printer.  Most products support various graphic formats to allow for easy importing of logos and images, bar code fonts, and support for image capture from cameras, scanners, and signature pads.

If your organization requires multiple points of data-entry, but wishes to maintain only one set of data, network-capable software is required.  Asure-ID Enterprise and EPI-Suite Classic are examples of ID card software that is designed for use over dedicated network environments like those found in most larger organizations.  Other higher level users may also require software and hardware capabilities for magnetic stripe encoding, holographic overlaminating, or UV sensitive security features.
